Frequently asked questions
The app shows a blank screen. What do I do?
Make sure your Android TV has an active internet connection. The app requires connectivity to load weather and prayer time data. If you're connected to a backend, verify the URL is reachable from the TV's network.
How do I update the WiFi password shown on screen?
Log in to your admin panel, navigate to property settings, update the WiFi credentials and save. The TV will refresh automatically.
Can I use this on Fire TV or Chromecast?
Yes, as long as the device runs Android TV OS or Google TV OS. Compatible with Amazon Fire TV Stick (via APK) and Chromecast with Google TV.
I subscribed but Cloud features are not unlocked.
Make sure the TV has an internet connection and is linked to your HospitalityTV account, and that your trial or subscription is active. If you self-host, verify the TV can reach your backend.
Does the app work without internet?
Partially. Cached content (property info, WiFi QR) still displays. Live widgets like weather and prayer times require an internet connection.
How do I reset the app?
Go to Android TV Settings → Apps → HospitalityTV → Clear Data. This removes all local config. You will need to re-enter the backend URL and license key.
